Bill and Leeann Cawley

For the past 30 plus years, Benicia Plumbing Inc., has been involved in much of the new construction in Solano County and the Bay Area. Benicia Plumbing Inc., founder, William Cawley, Jr., received his early training in the construction business from his father who was a plumbing contractor. After graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1964, Bill began his apprenticeship for the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 159, located in Martinez, California. In 1968, Bill started working for Billings Plumbing in Concord, California. It was here that Bill learned all the business aspects of the trade along with his plumbing skills.

Bill and his wife, Leeann, founded Benicia Plumbing, Inc., in 1975. This husband and wife team has been and still remains extremely active community affairs. Both Bill and Leeann have served separate terms as President of the Benicia Chamber of Commerce. Bill has also served as the President of the Benicia Kiwanis Club and the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors of Napa/Solano. In 1993, Benicia Plumbing, Inc., joined Northern California Mechanical Contractors in which Bill was elected President in 1999. Bill has been a member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 343 JATC since 1976 and Chairman since 1981 ; a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 159 JATC since 1994 and member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 342 JATC since 1999. Bill is also a member of California State Pipe Trades Joint Apprenticeship Committee since 2001. He has been a Management Trustee on the Pension and Welfare Trust Fund plans for the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 343 since 1990.

Leeann was a Charter Vice-President of Soroptimist International of Benicia and served as President twice; she has also been President of the Benicia Business & Professional Women’s Club, has served as a member of the Civil Service and Planning Commissions in Benicia, Past President of the California PHCC Women’s division in 1982, a Board Member of Benicia Main Street, and is currently active with the Benicia-Tula Sister City organization.

Bill and Leeann have three wonderful children, son Bill, daughter Lori, and son Patrick. Bill Cawley III (Billy) is Vice President and an  Estimator/Project Manager for Benicia Plumbing Inc., and Patrick is a Building Trades Journeyman in the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 343. Lori is a Claims Adjuster for a major car insurance provider. Bill and Leeann have seven grandchildren all living in the area.
